Is it possible to count the number of days cards are in a list to derive metrics?
Use case: From a Kanban perspective our team wants to count the number of days a card is in a list before pulled into the next list/column.
Example of a simple Kanban-style board:
# days ---> # days --->
I cannot find any answers to the above question/use case.
@Glenn_Weissel would this power-up do what you want? https://trello.com/power-ups/5b4765f383dd7c75d8e57be4/time-in-list-by-blue-cat
There is some cost involved, but it looks like it gives you some great visuals and charts to help with your reporting.
If using a paid power-up isn't an option, you could create your own system with the use of custom fields and automation. The idea would be to record the timestamps of when cards moved in and out of lists, and then calculate the duration between these dates. You can then track at the individual card level as well as consolidate all the data to view the durations of all cards.
The latter using custom fields is a bit more of an advanced topic, so happy to expand and give more detail if you're interested in exploring this option.
Hello Hannah,
Thank you for your quick response! While I'd love to use the power-up we cannot add anything to the enterprise instance of Trello.
I am interested in learning more about the other option however! What is the best way to connect on that?
Glenn
