Hi,
I would like to know to connect Trello with Slack - get notified on Slack only when I am tagged on Trello cards.
I went through all these steps:
https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/the-trello-app-for-slack/
But I am still not notified when I am tagged only in cards.
Thank you.
It sounds like you're on the right track - have you added a Mention notification in the Slack settings for your particular board yet?
If not, that may be the missing piece. To check:
If you already see your name listed there, try removing the mention notification and adding it back just to be sure it's not stuck somehow.
Last - only mentions in comments will send a notification to Slack. Mentions in a card description will not, just a heads-up!
Thanks Cody for your reply.
It is working now for me. I am finally getting notified on Trello when someone mentions me on Trello.
Now, how can my team members get notified when they are mentioned on Trello?
Thank you
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Of course, glad to help out! They should be able to follow those same steps. Each person would need to enable Mention notifications through the Slack Power-Up on the board they'd like to receive notifications from.

Thanks Cody, also how can each one of our team get notified on Slack when there is a deadline on a task attributed to them on a card?

We don't have a built-in automatic notification for a deadline on a card, but there are few options.
The first would the list general Slack notifications. These are configured in the same place as mention notifications, but you would click the Add Slack alert button instead. These are sent to a Slack channel of your choice.
The other option is to use Automation. Out automation tool lets you create messages in Slack - the snag is that DMs don't create notifications since they appear to be coming from yourself.
The best workaround I’d recommend for this particular use case would be to ask each person that wants Slack notifications to create a public or private channel, invite the Butler bot such that the only people in the channel are yourself and Butler bot, and have the Butler command send a message to the channel “as Butler”, and using Slack’s <!channel> or <!everyone> notation to trigger a notification to be send to everyone in the channel based on the due date of a card. Something like:
1 day before a card assigned to me is due, post message {cardlink} to Slack channel "trello-notifications" as myself
You can also include @ mentions using Slack's markdown like this, but again, it doesn't create a Slack notification for a DM: <@SlackUsername>
We have a bit more detail on using Slack with our Automation tool here: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/using-the-jira-and-slack-integrations/
