I’m on a paid workspace Trello plan. When I click on Mirror from the list of actions on a card and select another board, the card’s URL is added to the new card’s title as a link card instead of a regular card on the other board.
I have confirmed the boards are both on the paid workspace. I tried the card mirror yesterday and today and still have the same issue. I have verified that I have admin access to both boards. Any ideas?
If an automation rule is adding things like labels to cards automatically, that can force the mirror card into a regular card. You can undo that by following these steps:
If you're impacted by this, I highly recommend subscribing here, where we'll post any updates regarding this issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-927
I am also getting the same problem. If I remove the automation rules I have set up in the list I am mirroring into, it works as intended :/

Hi! Can you please try refreshing the board that should have the mirror cards on it and let me know if they display correctly after that?

Hi Caity,
I refreshed the board with the mirror cards. Here are two screenshots of the mirror card. As you can see, it adds the URL to the card's title.
I followed the instructions that are posted here: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/mirroring-cards/

Hi @Caity
I found out what the cause of the issue was. This may be a bug. On a few of my boards, Under Automation>Rules, I have rules that apply a label to a new card added to a board or a list.
When I disable all rules that add a label to the card on the destination board and then mirror a card to the destination board, the card no longer has a URL in the title but the name of the mirrored card.
Also, the same goes for a card that is mirror to the same board. Disabling all rules that add a label to the card fixes the issue.

Good find.. yes, that sounds like a bug to me.
But in general I do not understand why the name is this URL. There are dedicated technical fields ("cardRole" and "mirrorSourceId") to keep track of the org. Card so not used for that.

This is just a quick update: I submitted a ticket with Atlassian regarding the bugs. The Atlassian engineering team is actively working on a fix.

@Pho_123 It's also possible to set your rules to only apply to regular cards (i.e., not link cards or mirror cards). To do that, you'll need to be in the "Advanced" mode when creating the rule. Then, click on the filter icon to add conditions for your trigger, and from there you can add the condition to only apply the rule to cards with the role "none".

I am having the same URL only issue on my mirror cards. The automation to make them worked as scheduled, but I have no automation that creates labels after any triggers. The only automations I have at all are due date triggers. However, all I get is a blank mirror with the URL only in the title, and none of the card content. And for some reason, all the mirrored cards end up assigning me as the member on the card, instead of retaining the members of the original cards.
Not sure if it matters, if the boards don't have the same custom fields, will the mirrored cards work? Currently, it seems as if the mirror is being created like a new card on the destination board with that board's card formatting/templates. The board of origin has different fields entirely, and with a true mirror I didn't expect this to be an issue, but perhaps I'm asking for something that isn't possible, and this mirror function isn't going to work for me...

@Bridget Knowles It sounds like there is an automation running that is adding you as a member to those cards, which is converting them from mirror cards to regular cards just as adding a label would. Try following these steps:

@Caity Yes, I had a different question submitted where this automation issue has come up as well. I've already gotten some further clarification/info there, so I'll just link to that and not take up a couple of your team's time on the same thing. How to archive mirror cards?

@Pho_123 can you explain what you're expecting to see? I believe that's what mirror should do - on the new board you'll see a mirrored version of the original card, and when you click it it opens the original card.

The issue is that the name of the mirror is not a mirror, but an URL. I actually do not see this behavior (I see the name, but in the data behind the name is the URL, and if you then convert the Mirror to a real card it end up with the URL and name)... Secondary, if you look in the Board Activity, the Mirror is also reported as a card with this URL (+ the issue that the activity is "createCard" and not the expected "mirrorCard" activity type)

I'm having the same problem. Initially the card shows as a mirror card but as soon as I click on it it becomes a link with no details on the back of the card.
