Can you edit a drop down in a custom field and then have that apply to all boards?

I am looking to add a custom field called "Business Owner" that would have a drop down of all of our staff. This would be a custom field on all of our boards. If we have a staffing change and the drop down needs to be updated, will that update need to be manually made on every single board, or will one change apply across all boards that use that custom field?

@Sarah Huerta welcome to the community!

Actually yes, you can make it work by small workaround. Once you update the drop down in one of the boards, all you need to do is:

  1. Update the value for the dropdown to the new value for one of the cards
  2. Copy the card to all of the boards in which the dropdown needs to be updated (you can use "Copy" button under the "Actions" section in the card view)
  3. Remove the copied cards from the new boards - they were copied just to synchronize the dropdown value
  4. At this point the dropdown is synchronized across all boards, you can use newly added dropdown value
