Hi All
I am using Trello to make my own plans for activities. Is there a way possible that you can assign someone a job, without them being a member of Trello. I know this seems an unusual question, but I just want to use my account to organise my thoughts for me, rather than collaborative working.
Many thanks for reading :)
Kind regards
Karen
There are some ways you could do this.
For example, you could use a Powerup like
Trello Card Sharing Power-up | Hipporello - Try for free
Another idea...
If the person is just receiving a task and letting you know if it is done/not done. You could set up an automation to email the person and then when they reply to that email with a keyword like "DONE", it completes it on the board.
They key with Trello is to use your imagination 😀
I was thinking the same thing Mike!
Depending on the workflow and what the exact need is, an option could be to set up a rule to send an email based on a trigger - like setting a custom field or adding a label indicating the person that has been "assigned". That way you know who has been "assigned" to the task and the person is notified without having to access the board. If you do look into this as an option I'd suggest checking out butler variables too so that you can include info from the card in your email.
Hope that helps!

No, you can not allocate someone who cannot be identified to a task. It can't work - if you don't know some basic details (like having an account), then you can't uniquely identify someone as an owner/approver or anything else.
