Can I use a Trello API to create Board Buttons programmatically?

I am working on a private app and am writing some code to programmatically create new boards from my app.  I understand how to manage things like board details, lists, cards, labels, etc., from the REST API.  But I am hoping I can also programmatically add a Board Button to the new board. 

For example, I'd like to add a board button to this new board that, when clicked, does an HTTP GET.  I know how I can manually add this button to the board using Trello's UI, but am hoping to automate its creation when my app creates the board.  Is that possible?  If so, can you point me to the API documentation?

Update: Since this is for a private app, I would prefer to not have a solution that requires me to publish a power up to the directory.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Currently, rules and buttons are not exposed in the API and can only be accessed through the UI. We actually have it as an open feature request for the product team to consider! I'll add you as an official "+1" in support of this.

Unfortunately, there've been no developments in introducing this feature yet. But we've recently switched to a public tracking system of feature requests, so you can check it out here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-279

I'd also recommend you visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel. This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in. Also, when the ticket is updated by our product team, you'll be notified via email.
