Can I arrange cards vertically / on top of each other?

Linda Biviano January 18, 2023

Hiya! I see with other questions that you can't lock a card, but I was wondering if there is a way to sort cards vertically rather than all cards across the top horizontally. I am finding I have a lot of blank space on my screen and having to constantly move across the screen to get an overall view of my work is annoying ;) Thanks in advance :) Linda

Hi @Linda Biviano and welcome to the community,

I'm not quite sure that I get what you want to accomplish. You can sort card in a list using this method https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/sorting-lists/

How would the horizontal sorting would work? Is this about the cards or sorting the lists? Can you please clarify?

Hi Alex,

Currently the only way to view your lists is across the top of the screen. (horizontally) I want to be able to freely move them around to utilise the whole screen rather than just the top section. I've managed to find an extension that works similar to 'wrap text' feature in Excel where the lists fits te screen then is added to another row but still not 100% using the screen.

I have 10+ customers, each with their own lists but some have only a handful of cards so would be beneficial to be able to move another list underneath to fill up the space.

Trello only has set 'positions' where you can move these lists to. Think of it like a desktop, I was to be able to freely move my icons wherever I want on my board, same as Trello, I want to freely move my lists anywhere on the board.  Hope that explains it :)

@Linda Biviano thank you for the clarification!

Unfortunately this isn't doable currently. There might be a few powerups, but I didn't really have the need (so far) to search for a one. You can send a suggestion for your request here https://trello.com/contact/
