Hi everyone I really need help.
Every time I go to save an automation on any board, I get an error message that e is null, and NONE of my automation is working anymore. I don't know what to do! I've gone as far as completely re-building a board in hopes of fixing it, and nothing.
I can't see any of my automation being incorrect as I was simply just editing existing automation but adding one extra checklist the same way as I always have.
Hi Jenaye,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community! 🙂
Hmm, that's weird. I can't reproduce the same behavior in my account.
I'd suggest we do a check-up on your browser first. Please see the article below for detailed instructions on troubleshooting any problems with Trello in the browser: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/troubleshooting-browser-issues-with-trello/
You can also try using a different browser to see if the error message appears there.
Let us know if it helps!

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried multiple browsers and devices, and all of my other staff members on the board have done the same.
It's not working for anyone.
It's frustrating that automation is not working when we rely on it heavily on a few boards.

Hi Jenaye,
Thanks for following up! Sorry to hear the issue persists.
Does it happen with 1 specific Automation rule? Can you try creating any other rule to see if the error message reproduces?
Also, would you be able to send me either a copy or a screenshot of that rule? I'll try to recreate it in my account to see what might be causing the issue.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have attached a few screenshots of one of the automation, but this is happening to all of them. That Error seems to have disappeared but I'm still getting an error message when trying to action anything.
All of my lists and checklist names are correct. I just really don't understand what's going on.

Hi Jenaye,
Thanks for sharing the screenshots!
I must admit that the rule looks quite unusual because when it's saved it displays the label or checklist title twice. To be honest, I can't replicate this issue in my account to be able to add those titles twice.
I'd suggest you recreate the rule from scratch to make sure each action mentions board units (like label or checklist) just once to see if it works as expected then.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi Alina,
Can you explain board units a little more? I'm not sure what you mean.
I have tried recreating the rules and also the whole board. This issue is even happening on other boards with different teams and seems to be affecting my entire account. I have no idea how to fix it, but I'm getting stressed because it's making everything harder for us time and ease and I really don't know how to fix it.
Also, I am unable to fix the 'two names' problem, but I agree that's probably the issue as when I ask it to only move cards from one column to another it works fine, but once I ask it to add any checklists or labels the 'E is null' appears when I try to save but it will still save and then say it's not working when I try to use the automation.

Hi Jenaye,
Sorry for the confusion! I did mean the names that appear twice in your rules. It looks very unusual and it's weird I can't replicate such rule creation.
Would you be able to try creating a new rule in your browser's incognito window? To check if your browser's cache, cookies, or extensions affect Trello's performance.
If that doesn't help, could I ask you to create a ticket through https://trello.com/contact? This gives us access to a few more tools to help investigate, and we can discuss information that can't be shared in the community.
