Firstly, i have a board for my vehicle fleet, then I have a list for each vehicle in the fleet, I would like to attach a prestart checklist that automatically populates when they open a new card, how do I do this?
Secondly, if I have a different checklist for each list (vehicle) can I automate this for each list
@Pete Stevenson welcome to the community :) Yes, it's definitely possible to achieve what you want using butler automation.
Here are some suggested steps:
1. Create a template card called "Checklist Templates" or whatever you want to call it
2. Create a checklist for each vehicle and name the checklists the exact same as the list names
3. Add the relevant items under each checklist
4. Create an automation rule that looks up the relevant checklist based on what list the card is in and add it to the newly created card.
Here's an example of the rule you could use:
{cardlistname} is the variable. So for example, if you add a card to the list "Tractor", it will add the "Tractor" checklist to the new card.
This article describes a board design that does what you wanted
