Allow a member to create rules for a board

Hi there,

I am a workspace MEMBER and then I have guests that have joined a single board. I set up all the rules initially for this board, but now the guests can't amend them and I have to do it every single time.

How can we get around this without making anybody else a member? If one of the guests set up all the rules instead they could then control them for the board for all other guests?

Thanks,

Anna

Hi Anna,

Thanks for raising this question! 🙂

Automation rules are tied to the member who created them. Thus, it's expected behavior that other board members can't update your rules. The ability to amend someone else's rules doesn't depend on a user's role on a board or in a Workspace.

Other board members can indeed create their own rules, but if they're identical, they might run twice on your board or cause collisions.

You can create an Automation library to share your rules with others but indeed it can be shared only with Workspace members on a Premium plan.

I'd recommend taking a look at these articles:

Hope this information helps!
