I work for a news organization. We use Trello to keep track of who is working on what and when it will be published. To date, we've been creating a list for each week, and adding cards to those weeks (see screenshot below). But if a story moves from one week to another, someone has to go in and change the week, as you can see in the Wednesday list.
Is it possible to add cards to the board without creating week-based lists and have the cards show up on the date that corresponds to the date on the card?
Any advice would be most welcome.
@Pat Skerrett have you tried using the Calendar view to replicate what you're looking for? It will automatically plot cards in a week or month format by the due date!
You can either use the Calendar View if you're on Trello Premium, or you can use the Calendar Power-Up if you're using the free version of Trello
Many thanks for your answer, Brittany. It makes sense, but I'm not sure how to apply it. I am using the free version of Trello with the Calendar Power-up. If I try to add a card, the dialog box asks me what list I want it associated with. I believe that "Calendar events" is a list we had created (though I could be wrong about that).
Any suggestions on how to add a card to Trello without adding it to a prespecified list would be much appreciated.
