Hello,
Is anyone else hating the new text previews for links?
I work with web design and I need to be able to see the actual URL instead of the text preview. That's completely useless for me and my team.
I'm also unable to copy and paste URLs, which is another issue when working with long lists of them.
I know of two workarounds for that (using code blocks or removing the https:// from the URL), but those are not ideal and really time consuming when you need to do it for many URLs.
Hopefully Trello will make possible to disable the text previews. I don't think that featured should be enabled by default.
Unfortunately, if there is no option to disable that, my team and I will need to replace Trello.
Same story! I hate those link previews as I need to see the URL and not the meta title with an icon.
I wish I could disable that useless feature.
Has anyone found a way to disable these previews? Stupid feature!
I made a Chrome extension that prevents Trello from previewing your links: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/link-preserver-for-trello/kakifckibanjlglpkbnfdichejplgdap
It's completely free to use.
If you like what you see, check out my other Power-Ups at https://tinypowerups.com 🙂
Just check the warning on Google - it says your extension does not follow best practices
This is a really frustrating problem that is changing Trello from a "tool I love" to a "tool that constantly irritates me and derails me from work".
I think it is a really poorly considered feature in most cases. If we want cutesy content in our cards we have ways to selectively put it there.
Even worse, the URLs referenced in our team's cards are largely login protected. That means Trello is going out of its way to take my meaningful text and replace it with a meaningless button (since they all convert to "Login Page").
I also find it very annoying - please Trello can you implement a way of saving your code for future copying and pasting?
Trello breaks my "code" which I always add to E-learning SCORM files in Captivate, because it adds http:// to the front of the code and removes the opening bracket!
Even when I say paste as normal text, it still overrides the line of text and makes it a hyperlink when I save! What does it help I try to keep regularly used information when the information gets changed?
I do see now that there is an option to save your code this way:
"Display code with Syntax highlight syntax highlighting"
