we really love the power ups and the repeat feature so we know to do things each year.  We are having an issue with it now created double cards on our lists.  Have you experienced that?

Hi @Lake Michigan Cottages Video  I have not experienced that. I would recommend you create a community question post to see if others may have a work around, and ensure to tag it Trello and Powerups.

Thanks,

Jodi

Is there any plans to create a way to connect from Sketch?

@Iain Dooley just curious, what features do you miss from the Butler Bot ?

@Jodi LeBlanc can you share more details about how your team uses Trello at work?

Butler and Calendar power-ups are my go-to's. One runs my schedule, one runs my to-do lists!

@Alina Vandenberghe well, I don't personally miss any of them because I wrote a replacement and ported all my clients' projects over to it:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Marketplace-Apps-articles/Introducing-Trellinator-Automate-Trello-with-Google-Apps-Script/ba-p/925271

But the Butler power up is a shadow of its former self. I guess most notably missing are any kind of loop structure, no conditionals, but in addition to that some of the actual features from the command builder are changed, the inability to copy cards and dynamically enable commands on the copied board, can you even do global commands any more?

I mean, the bot was so useful, and the power up doesn't really come close in my experience so far, hopefully they're working on it but as a power up I don't think it will ever truly live up to what the Bot could do because the power up architecture is fundamentally flawed imho.

I am in the process of evaluating the Custom Fields Power-Up. I was debating between the workflow and custom fields one. After a quick evaluation, I decided to keep Trello the way it is. I don't have to mimic JIRA. Custom Fields power-up on the other hand gives me that ability to add some fields that I need depending on the task I have on my card.

Again I am still evaluating the power-up. There is no final decision as if I will keep it or not.

Thanks for sharing @Fadoua I look forward to hearing what you decide as you use the power-up. Brittany Joiner did an article on custom fields which you may find interesting:

By using Card Repeater of Butler power ups is it possible to do the following.

I have a card on a board that my assistant works from every day. We have it in a list called Daily Tasks.

Once she has completed her tasks she moves it to a list called Completed Tasks.

At 12 noon the next day I would like the card to be automatically moved back to the Daily Tasks list.

Would this be possible using Butler for example? And if so how would I go about doing it.

Any answers appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Pete , that's a great question. The card repeater would create a new duplicate card each day so that wouldn't help with moving it from one list to another. However I believe Butler command would do this, I need to explore the Butler features more so I don't know what the command would be. I would encourage you to create a community question and tag it with trello and butler so that someone who uses Butler often would be able to help you out.
Thanks so much!
Jodi

The Calendar Power-Up is something I use every day. Is there a good "Butler 101" resource out there to see if it's worth getting my feet wet in that?

Jon Hamblen September 12, 2019

I have found that Cronofy has helped me immensely.  I'm the type of person who needs to see tasks on my calendar, and Cronofy allows me to sync due dates to any of my calendars.  Super useful.  Also, Butler is very powerful.  Good stuff!

Thanks for sharing @Jon Hamblen , I am glad you find Cronofy and Butler useful. Over 100 power-ups, I need to carve out some time to try more of them :)

I like the custom fields powerup.  I used it to implement my own priority system based on weighted-shortest-job first (WSJF).  I wish it could do calculations based upon other fields, but other than that it is great.

My go-to would have to be custom fields and butler. It's great because you can have bulter control custom fields. Then from the custom fields information butler can create reports and email them to me on set days so I am able to track the progress of all my projects in each stage of there process over multiple boards.

I'm just waiting now for butler to be able to create a new board based off a template board and link this board to the card automatically.

Jodi, just wanted to thank you for this article. I use Trello for personal things in my life and while not a daily affair like Jira/Confluence I love it! I recall when you wrote the article back in February but just came back across it while playing around w/ Trello. It is great to have such a reference.

Cheers!
