ACP-120 Course Material & Sample Paper

Hi,

I am preparing for ACP-120 and it seems like some of the modules we go through has not been updated or doesn't match with how it looks in reality. I am wondering how Atlassian keep their courses, sample papers and videos updated.

How can I know which module is updated and which one is not. There current cloud interface doesn't necessarily match with what is on screen in the videos.

I have come across questions which were not updated, and some course screens which contradict each other.

I sent one for moderation but got answer that everything was fine.

You can contact the support team which is responsive. After contacting them they forwarded my request to one of the lead trainers and I was able to get answers quickly. 

Besides, I have bought those practice exams from udemy. They answers are really thorough and I have learned a lot from them. I would also recommend to practice using a Jira Software Cloud trial version which will cost you nothing and no credit card is required. 

Hope it helps and good luck for the exam. It is not an easy one so prepare carefully.

I would recommend only using Atlassian training materials. I know many are not free but I found with Udemy and other exam dumps and other study aids that some of the answers are not correct and you don't want to train yourself on the wrong answers.

@Valerie Knapp you are right but I have used the trial version of Jira Software Cloud to test each and every question of the exam and I have found that the ACP-120 practice exam in udemy very informative and answers are mostly correct. Besides there are explanation for correct and incorrect answers.

Yet the ACP-620 practice tests that @Leandro Azevedo shared contain a bunch of errors. But again I took the time to test every question and It helped me practice and test each use-cases, go through the documentation.... sometimes I asked question in the community ...

At the end I got more than 90% in both ACP-120 and ACP-620. And my score in udemy in ACP-120 was more than 90% (which was close to the real score) but in the ACP-620 in udemy it was about 60% because of the errors in the practice exams. 

final thoughts: Practice makes perfect :) (or almost perfect). Take whatever opportunity and use it as a tool to practice and create use-cases for a hands on experience on Jira Software Cloud to nail the Exams.

Second, I'd like to say that even with errors, the udemy questions are a great opportunity to find answers to the errors in the community , learn more and give feeback to the creators of the courses.

I bought these courses to prepare for the exam. Would not recommend anyone to buy this. It is confusing and far from what is asked in actual exam. It was a torture to go through these questions. Save your money & time.

Spend your precious time on this course instead:

Studying those questions helped me a lot.

I have studied those two for my ACP-620 but I have found some errors in the answers (for example: the components assignment questions) and other questions are not well explained. But if helps overall if you practice each question on a Jira Site, you can figure out what questions are wrong.

I was also confused by the component issues related to auto-assignment. My question is: in case the issue is created with several components and the default assignee is set to the component lead, the assignment would be to the first one in alphabetical order of the component lead name or of the component name?

Hi @Leandro Azevedo , the behaviour you are describing is what happens in self-hosted for Components. If you try this in a cloud site, you will see that the assignments works differently in cloud. I also found this difference confusing!

In the ACP-120 Practice Exam in udemy I learned that even the Atlassian documentation was wrong. The solution given by the agile experts team in udemy is that the assignment is based on the id of the component and in fact I have tested it and the explanation is correct. The component with the first (lowest) Id will win. The alphabetical order is not correct as you may noticed while testing. 

Don't know how they have found this but it is correct and even more correct than Atlassian doc itself !!

Hi @Ubaid Eusuf Zai , I agree that there are some discrepancies in the training material for the ACP-120. 

Having just taken and passed the exam last week, I would say the area that I was least prepared for was the team-managed projects. I missed 15 questions (and still passed with 80%), but my feeling was that was where I messed up the most and really just had no idea about some of the questions.

My advice to you would be to prepare as broadly as you possibly can, not just following the ACP-120 prep course, but doing lots of extras, like the Cloud permissions, Automation, JQL for admins, anything where, in the practice tests you are weak, go and find a separate course and do it.

Thanks @Valerie Knapp I am doing exactly what you said, taking extra courses and preparing broadly. But it still feels like one can't rely on the information they get from the course modules.

But Thanks for confirming my approach to test, I am preparing as broadly as I can and understanding the concepts contra just reading the text.

I would say just keep going. If you find any specific questions that look strange, you can always write here and ask others for their input.
