Why aren't email notifications sent from Team Calendars while other Confluence notifications are?

We have a Confluence DC instance in which we get email notifications all the time for pages we watch, comments, etc.  Email sends from Confluence are working well.. except for Team Calendars.

When watching a calendar no emails are being sent for new events, updates... basically anything that a watcher should see.

Why would there be a failure on the part of Team Calendars only?

@Rob Horan If you are watching the calendar you should be receiving notifications.

Have you looked at the logs to see if there is an issue being logged there?  you might have to turn on additional logging.  

Have you done a trace to see if the email is going out?

Thanks - unfortunately for this particular instance I don't have admin rights, but I have passed along these comments to see how far we can get.
