How to integrate Cloudwatch to the status page to monitor API health. If it doesn't work, what is the alternative solution you would suggest?

You could use a monitoring system like New Relic or Datadog.

Or, how I'm trying to do it at the moment, write a Lambda function that submits metrics from CloudWatch using the Statuspage API.
