Stop statuspage notification when added as a subscriber

Asher Francis October 26, 2020

Hi there

We want to turn on component subscriptions for statuspage, and have notifications sent to certain distribution groups when incidents are created for certain components

Currently when you add someone as a subscriber they get an email to say you've been subscribed as per below

Is there any way to stop this being sent? Since we're subscribing dist. lists with potentially hundreds of users, we don't want them to get this notification

Thanks

Hi Asher,

You can control via API if you want to send, or not, the email for the subscription confirmation

I don't know if each subscription plan offer this. I con confirm that we can do this with Business plan.

Hi Asher, the option to skip confirmation is available via the authenticated API for all plan types. Here is the endpoint in question:

https://developer.statuspage.io/#operation/postPagesPageIdSubscribers

Just specify the optional `skip_confirmation_notification` parameter in the POST body, like this:

{
"subscriber": {
"email": "dave@example.com",
"skip_confirmation_notification": true
}
}
