Redirect old statuspage subdomain to new subdomain

hello all, I would to change the subdomain of my satuspage due to a company rebranding. I obviously saw that statuspage subdomain can get easily updated but what I do not know is:

Will statuspage redirect the traffic of my old url (http://old.statuspage.io/ to the new url http://new.statuspage.io/ )? This to ensure no impact on subscriber's level... 

Anyone tried this already?

This is Mubeen, I will be happy to help.

Yes, it is possible. You can have your old custom domain URL redirected to the new domain URL. If you would like to change the custom domain name from Old-Domain-A to New-Domain-B. We will need you to put in a CNAME record for the new domain(New-Domain-B) to mirror the values currently in place for the active domain(Old-Domain-A).

Once the CNAME values are validated you can reach out to Statuspage support so we will help with further changes. When requesting a custom domain change you can confirm with Statuspage support team to keep the old domain URL as a redirect. This redirect will work as long as you are keeping the CNAME values associated with this domain name in your DNS. There will not be any impact except your Statuspage being redirected to a new custom domain URL.

Thank you for your feedback. 

Sorry I may have confused you using the word customer domain.. I'm using a statuspage.io url (thus subdomain).

Today my statuspage url looks like https://i******e.statuspage.io/ where I would like it to become like https://w****l.statuspage.io/ . Can I be reassured traffic from old statuspage url will be automatically fwded to the new url once I make that update in the statuspage url?

Thank you for clarifying that, redirect for subdomain is not currently supported. if you change the Statuspage URL with the available subdomain then your OLD URL will become invalid and the users who try to access it will be routed to https://www.atlassian.com/software/statuspage. 

In this case, the recommended option is to use a custom domain setup. This will allow you to setup a custom domain URL for your New Domain and keep the original old domain URL active. You can take a call later to completely remove the OLD domain URL with a new available subdomain URL.
