How do I integrate Components automation through Datadog

Question

We use Datadog to monitor components, the monitors when sending out email notification do not include UP or Down in email subject. The components automation in Statuspage parse the subject line and change status based on the UP/DOWN sent in subject line.

How do I achieve automation using integration with datadog with using UP?Down in subject line?

Hope you're doing well and safe.

Unfortunately, the Statuspage component automation currently expects the words UP and DOWN and I'm afraid it is not possible to use different strings for E-mail automation at the moment.

As a workaround, you may choose to implement a custom solution that makes API calls to change the component status using the 'update component' API endpoint. Here's a direct link to the documentation: https://developer.statuspage.io/#operation/patchPagesPageIdComponentsComponentId

Alternatively, if you have Opsgenie configured in your environment, you can take in emails, create an alert, then update a component using special tags.
