How do I create an incident and subsequently assign to another user for the update the status?

Hi, how do I create a incident in Atlessian Statuspage and subsequently assign to another user so that the person can follow-up closely update the different stages of the incident until closure (resolution)?

Hi @Kenny CH Tan,

This is Darryl. I am here to help. 😀

Sorry that I am not quite sure about this inquiry. On Statuspage, there is no such field to assign an Incident to any specific user at any stage (for example, incident creation).

It's the shared responsibility for the Team Members/Employees to maintain the status of the incident.

Hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,

Hi Darryl, thank you for your response. Let me try to explain my inquiry again.

Basically when an incident happens in the organization, we need to inform a group of subscribers. I will create an incident and set it to "investigating" stage with the relevant message. However for the subsequent stages (identified, monitoring and resolved) of the incident, I would like to handover/assign another user/colleague (since I have the admin rights) to update the different stages accordingly. Can Atlessian Statuspage do that? Meaning I start/create an incident and handover to another user to update the different stages of the same incident. Hope I'm clearer now with my inquiry. Thank you.

Hi @Kenny CH Tan ,

In Statuspage you don't have the option to assign an incident to a user. It is not needed. You should make sure that every team member has the right permissions to update/manage incidents on the statuspage by setting up their permissions. This will enable them to update incidents on the statuspage.

If you really want to assign users you should look at the integration between Statuspage and Opsgenie. Or Statuspage and JSM.

Hopefully that helps.

Regards,

Howard
