Can't connect New Relic to Statuspage

I am trying to setup the New Relic third party system metrics with our status page, but the API key is not accepted. 

I keep running into this error: 

Remote validation of your credentials failed, or you have no applications associated with your account.

 I checked, we have around 1300 APM metrics in New Relic.

The solution is to add your "Rest API" key, not the new "User API key". It is a bit hard to find, but if you add your account number to this link, it should get you there:

https://rpm.newrelic.com/accounts/[ACCOUNT NUMBER]/integrations?page=api_keys


But bottomline;

The integration is outdated, as is uses the New Relic V1 Rest API, so you cannot add uptime metrics, as this is part of synthetics. I think Atlassian should take a note and update this integration, so we are able to use all the latest New Relic metrics on the status dashboard.

For anyone else suddenly dealing with this issue in 2024:

(New Relic REST API Keys were EOL'd Mar 18, 2024):

1. In Your page > System metrics, go to Third-party data sources and delete and re-create your previous New Relic connection (associated with the Metric(s) in question).

2. If necessary, you may also need to delete and re-create the original Metric itself, if it's tied to your previously-linked Third-party data source account. (Tip: Click Edit and Hide metric on the original Metric, use it to copy-paste name & settings to make that easier.)

3. After clicking Link account to re-create the New Relic data source, make sure you:

  • 3.A) Use a USER type API Key at New Relic, which you can create in New Relic > Administration > API Keys (and make sure you copy the Key itself when created, which you'll only see once; there is a "Copy Key ID" option for each existing API Key, but that isn't the same thing and won't work here.)
  • 3.B) Choose the v2 New Relic API for Metric base URI (or the EU option if you're in Europe.)

same issue, and im using the API key found bottom right.   I get the same error..   Is there some kind of delay between creation and when you can actually use the API key?

Is there any update on this? I currently can’t connect status page with new relic as it looks like the api versions are different?

 

I just signed up to statuspage as well and without this integration I can’t use the product.
