I am integrating Opsgenie with StatusPage. I would like to have a component status updated when an alert comes in.
I have found the details on adding a tag like cmp_API:major_outage (kb here https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/integrate-opsgenie-with-statuspage/#section-changing-componentincident-statuses-via-alert-tags-optional) This works fine but the character limit of 50 and also parenthesis not being allowed causes long component names or names with parens to not update. I would like to instead use the components api id if possible but haven't found any documentation on what tag syntax statuspage accepts.
Thanks
Hi @Jake Parker,
This is Darryl. I am here to help. 😀
Understand that you would like to know if there's any workaround to avoid hitting the character limit of 50 (and also parenthesis usage the prohibited) when updating the Status of the Statuspage Component from Opsgenie incorporating the Statuspage integration.
Unfortunately, this is not feasible in the current design as it's the only acceptable format for this integration.
We understand this has brought you inconvenience in your operation and we do have an existing feature request for this request, OPSGENIE-475.
Please vote for it and set yourself as a Watcher to receive the latest updates.
Please note that our Product team reviews all Feature Request (FR) together and they prioritize those with higher demand to be implemented first and any FR will take months until is ready since it needs to go through Design, Development, Testing, and rolling out to Production.
Thank you very much for your feedback in helping us improve Opsgenie and the integration with Statuspage.
Kind regards,
Darryl Lee
