Hello,
We have removed from our public facing status page the ability for users to self-subscribe.
I'm looking for any possible means to add Slack subscribers other than re-enabling this option for public users.
By looking at the documentation, all three ways to add subscribers do not support Slack subscriptions: admin management page, bulk CSV import and add subscribers via API :
How can we add Slack subscribers? Isn't there an API endpoint used by public subscribers that we could be using?
Thanks in advance.
Happy to help!
Unfortunately this isn't currently possible due to the Oauth sequence requiring separate confirmation of the subscription by the user in Slack. As part of the process:
"The page viewer is taken to sign in to their workspace to Slack, then allows Slack the permissions it needs to access the workspace."
Meaning the subscription flow requires interaction on the part of the person subscribing. So there isn't a way via the API or CSV to skip over that interaction to confirm it.
While this is a current limitation, I would recommend submitting a Support Request to us so that we can create a Feature Request and add your Organization to it for updates. It may be possible for Engineering to find a way around this in future releases, and that Feature Request would be one of the best methods to stay updated on the progress and potential for addition to the product.
Please let me know if you have any follow up questions!
Thanks Shivam, thought so.
I've created the support request.
Thanks again!
