number bubble for non-tracked file?

after upgraded to 3.0,  it starts to show the number of non-tracked files above the commit button... 

it did not behave like this before, 

is this expected? a design change? (or there is a setting to ignore untracked files? not found in settings...)

Hi David,

This was an intentional design choice for consistency with other toolbar items as well as our Windows design language. You can vote on and watch this ticket that requests an option to disable.
