Update Embedded Git is not successful

Hi there, I tried to update embedded Git but is not successful.

Hi @chunkitt.hong

The message means Sourcetree could not pull the Git package from Atlassian's download endpoint, so I would look at the connection and the target folder rather than at Git itself.

I would try in this order:

  • Update Sourcetree itself under Tools > Options > Updates, since a newer app version ships a newer embedded Git anyway
  • Check proxy and SSL inspection under Tools > Options > Network, as corporate TLS interception often kills this download
  • Temporarily allow Sourcetree in your antivirus; it likes to block the extracted git.exe
  • Delete the folder C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\git_local and click Update Embedded again
