Dear Sir, Madam,
quite simple question, actually. Want to install and use SourceTree. At the moment of "login with existing account" I offer my email address and it comes back with an error "please enter an email address". Account is verified via the web/browser (however it just does not recognized the format.
Actions so far on MAC El Capitan 10.11.6:
- uninstalled and tried back till version 2.1 https://www.sourcetreeapp.com/download-archives
- Wiped data and started over: https://confluence.atlassian.com/sourcetreekb/how-to-wipe-sourcetree-preferences-412484640.html
- Tried friends account. On his system no problem, on mine it is
- rebooted system
- password restore
No effect.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance
Jerome
I have the exact same issue from this morning... I am under El Capitan 10.11.6 on a Mac book pro. It's a Blocker issue...
You still can use the older version of the software version 2.1 that you can download there :
or there :

Hi Jerome! This issue has been reported in our tracking system, you can find it at SRCTREE-5034. I recommend you watch to be notified of further updates.
If your email address is a Gmail / Google you can use the "Log in with Google" button, let us know if it worked for you.
Lastly, you mentioned that you tried some friends' accounts and in their systems they were working, while in your system they don't. Which systems are they using?
Best regards,
Ana

Hi Ana,
thanks for the answer. I'll keep an eye out on the issue. I see it has been reported and worked on with high prio.
Did not try with gmail yet and have no "development" gmail that I can use. That's why I'm a bit stuck.
The person who supported my just left for 2 weeks. I assume he had Mac Sierra as I did not upgrade my MAC in the last cycle. He also has newer hardware (latest MAC book pro). I'm using the previous MAC book pro.
Hope this helps
Best regards
Jerome
