Sourcetree Start Menu Icon missing from Enterprise Installer

Harry Caskey December 14, 2018

We looking to deploy the latest version of Sourcetree 3.0.8, but it looks like this is still a bug.  We are using SCCM to deploy the install, but the MSI does not create the shortcuts after being installed.

We can script the installer to manually create shortcuts, by creating a shortcut and then copying it after the installer has completed.  However, I would prefer the MSI to work properly and create these shortcuts.  Is this a known bug?

For reference, our install string is:
msiexec.exe /i SourcetreeEnterpriseSetup_3.0.8.msi ACCEPTEULA=1 /qn

The MSI is a minimal setup to create a Enterprise friendly installer, as such we expect to build upon it.

As such it does not create a shortcut currently.

@minnsey,

Regardless of the reason, that doesn't make much sense.  If you are installing the application, you would intend that your users can use the software.  Having access to the shortcuts makes sense.

Could you please add the shortcuts to the next MSI installer?  We have some requests to make this available to our users, but this installer doesn't work correctly like all the other MSI's we deploy.

If it helps, the Start Menu shortcuts for all users can be found here: ("C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs")
