My PC dose NOT have public internet connection.

I have installed SourceTree (via memory stick) and registered and download the sourcetree.license.

My question:

If you have installed SourceTree on a PC without a public internet connection, you may face an issue when trying to pass through the "License agreement" step during the first startup. To overcome this, follow these steps:

  • Locate the installation folder of SourceTree on your PC.
  • Find the "sourcetree.license" file within the installation folder.
  • Copy the license file to a portable storage device like a memory stick.
  • Connect the storage device to the PC without internet access.
  • Transfer the license file from the storage device to the SourceTree installation folder on the target PC.
  • Launch SourceTree, and it should recognize the license and skip the "License agreement" step.

Remember to consult official SourceTree documentation or support channels for further assistance. Keeping your software licenses and installations up to date is crucial for smooth and legal usage.

Sourcetree just a ui wrapper for git, so why git support offline and sourcetree no??

The latest versions seem to have redesigned the registration process. This answer has some steps for the latest versions (on Windows, v 1.8.x): https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/37039953

It sounds like you already did most of this - were you able to import the license?

Edited to add: On Mac, you can go to SourceTree->Registration and click the "Import Registration" button.

On Windows, it's under File->Registration.

I haven't actually done this, but the options seem to be there.

No. I don't know how to import the license. What are the steps in detail to do the license import?

Hello Tim,

The "offline“ registration is still not working for me.

I have copy the downloaded  “sourcetree.license” to C:Programme(x86)\Atlassian\SoureTree\extra\licenses

But still during the setup it tries to connect to some online resource, but my PC is not connected to the internet at all.

Can you please give me the steps how to SourceTree setup offline ? What do you mean with "File->Registration" ?

Thank you,

Walter

By File->Registration I meant the 'Registration' option under the 'File' menu.  But Seth's answer above seems more current, I'd suggest you check that out.

Sorry Tim,

please be more specifc. What do you want me to do in Details. I don't knwo any "Registration" Option under the "File" menu. I have asked for details on this allready.

My options at "Log in to your Atlassian account" include "Use an existing account" and "Go to My Atlassian". Both of these attempt to access the internet (which I can't). Is it still possible to run SourceTree without internet access?

Hey Walter,

Sorry you're still having trouble.  I was hoping I could point you in the right direction, but I'm not an Atlassian employee so I'm afraid this is about the limit of my ability to help.  Have you checked out the link in Seth's answer?

Installation wizard 1.9.9.20. Can not skip step Registration.

Blocker when no direct connection to Atlassian - that's all.
