JIRA text replacement doesn't open link in browser

Long ago, Commit text replacement in SourceTree would allow adding a link to a JIRA repository and have that link open in a browser, via

  1. Open menu: Repository>Repository Settings...>Advanced
  2. Under Commit Text Replacements, hit Add
  3. Set Replacement Type to Jira Project Link and fill out the other fields.

Now, when doing that, it still places the link, but rather than opening the link in a browser, it opens it in the commit text textbox, and that textbox is just a JIRA warning page saying javascript is disabled.

How can I get back correct behavior, where it opens the link in a browser window?
