How to resolve Javascript Load Error during sourcetree startup

Robthebuilder September 5, 2018

I am on step 2 of setting up sourcetree "Register account" and received the following error dialogue:

"Log in with Atlassian account

We tried to load scripts but something went wrong.

Please make sure that your network settings allow you to download scripts from the following domain:

https://aid-frontend.prod.atl-paas.net/atlassian-id/front-end/2.6.22"

I would really appreciate help resolving this. I have turned off adblocker for the site and added the program to windows firewall. Downloaded via Chrome.

Hi

Registering Sourcetree for Windows 2.x using Atlassian account currently relies on Internet Explorer underneath the hood, it is a WPF dependency.

Version 3.0.0, currently in beta, will switch this to use Bitbucket/OAuth for registration and remove this IE dependency.

For now, essentially, if you can login to https://id.atlassian.com, using IE you should be able to register.

The best advice as of today for registration webview issues with IE:

  1. open Internet Explorer
  2. open the Developer tools, f12
    1. set the Browser Mode 10
    2. set the Document Mode Standards
  3. open Cog/Internet options
    1. ensure the following settings are enabled
    2. Misc/Access data sources across domains
    3. Misc/Allow META_REFRESH
    4. Scripting/Active Scripting
