GITLAB account : Need improve documentation about PAT

Edited

Hello Atlassian and sourcetree team,

This is not the first time I use my GitLab account on sourcetree (in fact, I love this piece of software), and every time the same issue :

1) I create a token with simple access

2) I bang my head against the wall because every combination of mail, username, @username + PAT fails, and lose half an hour on it, wondering if any proxies would have blocked the connexion, why this shadow pc I recently acquired prevented me from doing my job, why neither ssh nor https works

3) Then change the PAT access to full access with disbelief about the security of the project yet hope it would finally work

4) Works first try

Am I really the only one having this issue?

Can you please add an explanation of what minimal access is required for a PAT to work?

It would save my time and sanity, please
