confluence watcher notifications always on

Hello

We have the situation where even if we uncheck the watcher notification, the watcher receives an email.

How can we stop this from happenning ?

Are they watching the Space itself?

The point is that eventhough they are watching, is you uncheck the notify watcher they still receive the email, which shouldn't happen...
