What version of Confluence Server can I import to Atlassian Cloud

Jan Capps March 20, 2015

I want to import a confluence server instance 4.2.4 to Atlassian Cloud. The documentation is not clear what versions of confluence are supported for imported to cloud. In one place it says 4.0 and up and in another it says 5.3? If I can export my current version to the cloud, that would be great. If not, it's going to be more complicated/time intensive.

This page says you can migrate a Confluence Site from version 4.0 to Atlassian Cloud.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Importing+a+Confluence+Site

My site is too big to import the entire site so I will have to import a space at a time. When I go to Atlassian Cloud, import it says it supports import from Confluence 5.3.

That is different than what the documentation says anywhere. If I must do that, it's going to be a bigger hassle than I expected.

Hi Jan,

If you want to migrate your data from Confluence Server to Cloud, first you need to upgrade your Server to the latest version of Confluence (5.7).

Thanks and regards,
