Our industry association uses Confluence extensively for our 'internal colalboration' for our registered users.

However we also know we can use Confluence for the open public Spaces and pages as our general web presence using the Anonymous user setting for specific public Spaces.

At this stage we have just used a standard Confluence style layout for our public pages basically the same as our collaboration page layout. http://cigre.org.au/

We are interested to see how sophisticated the public Space style sheet can be developed - our global organisation has a fancier general look and feel http://www.cigre.org/

If you can send me a link to any good examples of public web sites which have been created and managed by Confluence that would be greatly appreciated

Hi Rodney,

We had a similar need - we wanted to use Confluence for collaborating on content yet point customers to a publicly accessible and branded website. In out case we wanted product documentation on that site.

Last week we released Instant Websites for Confluence Cloud to improve the experience when our customers browse product documentation. Traditionally, customers would browse our documentation direct on Confluence (arijea.atlassian.net). We found the page load time problematic and the mobile style less than ideal.

With Instant Websites our documentation is automatically converted from a Confluence space to a static, mobile responsive website. That is then deployed to Amazon Web Services.

In short, with Instant Websites for Confluence Cloud every time a customer wants to read the documentation they get it immediately, regardless of the device they are on.

You've clearly got an established site today so it may not be appropriate. Just thought that it may be of use/interest.

Thanks Rodney, have a great day,
Nick

Hi Rodney,

Here's a few links for publicly available Confluence sites with great designs to give you a few ideas of the possibilities of designing in Confluence:

http://wicket.apache.org/

http://cayenne.apache.org/

http://www.stepstonetech.com/display/stepstone/Home

The best solution is to use one of the theme plugins available on the Atlassian Marketplace, such as the Zen plugin used for the stepstonetech.com design, although there are also options to style Confluence with CSS and decorators if you're comfortable with coding design solutions.

All the best,
John
