I have a user who was part of a group and he had created a dashboard and shared it out to the group. After he was removed from the group (he was still showing as ower on of the dashboard) he was not longer able to edit or add gadgets to the dashboard.
He is still a member of a group that has access to the project that the dashboards are used in as well.
An admin can change the ownership of the dashboard. And then the new owner can update/add to it.

There is no new owner it is the person who created it and shared it out who is still the owner and who wanted to add to it however the system is not letting him

As long as he is the owner, and he has the "Create Shared Objects" global permission, he should be able to do it. See if he lost the permission when he was removed from the groups.

I tried to change the ownership to me then back to him and it says he does not have the ability to share objects with one of the groups it has been shared out to. Do you have to be a member of a group to share it to them?
