I am installing stash on a Windows 2008 R2 server with mysql 5.1. I downloaded and installed the Java SE Development Kit 7 into c: Java. The only directory it creates in c: java is a jre7. I continued through the installation instructions and when i run bin start-stash.bat it outputs the following:

Using STASH_HOME: c: StashHome

The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly

This environment variable is needed to run this program

NB: JAVA_HOME should point to a JDK not a JRE

.

Started Atlassian Stash at:

http://localhost:7990/

If you encounter issues starting or stopping Atlassian Stash, please see the Tro

ubleshooting guide at:

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Installation+Troubleshooting+Guide

Whe I go to http://localhost:7990/ it says it cannot display the page.

Maybe you need to set the JAVA_HOME variable in the system and also make sure that both stash and java are either on x86 or x64.
