How can I share a Microsoft word document in Confluence, and update it from Firefox, without downloading it to my computer?

In theory, the Office Connector allows that. In practice, I haven't found that it works on Mac, but I think it works on Windows. The problem (I think) on Mac is lame Mac webdav, which can't write the file back up to the server successfully.

You would need MS Word on you local computer, and you may need to install a plugin to get it to work.
