LDAP Confluence

Hubert Morris January 22, 2014

We are using Atlassian Confluence 5.1.4 using the Confluence Internal Directory. My management team has requested me to migrate to LDAP or even Active Directory. What are my best options and what would be the procedures?

First you have to make sure the user names match. If not start renaming or create the same users in LDAP.

Once the same users are there in LDAP/AD, give them the same groups memberships and then create a new user directory in Confluence to connect to AD/LDAP. You can then put the new directory above the internal user directory and everything should work fine.

That is the theory. Test it first ;)
