How do I make confluence page editor recognize my video url?

sm shamim August 15, 2012

When I insert a youtube video url into the page editor, it automatically connects it with the Widget Connector. I have created a Widget Connector extension which can embed my video url. But it only works when the user open up the Widget Connector macro and insert the url through it.

What do I need to do to make sure that when our video url is pasted on the editor, it automatically connects that url with the Widget Connector?

Hi Shamim,

The one that's responsible for it is actually an auto convert feature in Confluence 4.1. It will recognize the link and use Widget connector. If you would like Confluence to recognize your own video url, perhaps you could expand auto-convert plugin by following this documentation.

Hope it helps. Cheers.

Hello Rian,

Thanks for your answer. I was already following that tutorial on auto-convert. For some reason my auto-convert javascript does not get executed. On my terminal console I can see the following log:

"resolveDependencies Cannot find web resource module for: com.atlassian.confluence.tinymceplugin:editor-javascript-resources"

Do I need add any specific dependency in my maven configuration or anwhere else?

Is auto-convert a viable solution for this?
