Crucible: Do file comments propagate to subsequent revisions in a later release?

Brent Scriver May 28, 2014

Context: Crucible v3.1.2, Perforce SCC

In-line comments in a file don't propagate between revisions resulting in extremely painful navigation to find comments and then verify changes.

This is exacerbated for new files where we can't also review the diffs between revisions and have to manually download files to diff them. It's even worse if for some reason files aren't rooted.

Hi Brent,

According to our documentation, comments can be added at the level of a review, revision, or line. So, they don't get propagated to other (new) revisions committed. Comments are linked to Crucible reviews, which have revisions. Comments are not linked to revisions directly.

Comments added to a file being reviewed will be linked to that file version in that specific review.

Kind regards,

This is the same as several other questions you've recently asked. The answer remains "check the issue tracker for Crucible and read the release notes"
