Bamboo won't build HEAD revision of branch if earlier revision fails to build

Adam Lins December 26, 2012

A developer had a branch, which I'll call 'SPC' for the purpose of this ticket. It exists at branches/SPC at revisions r1697, r1709, and r1710. For r1708, the developer who 'owns' the branch decided to delete it. There is a commit message, but r1708 no longer contains branches/SPC.

Bamboo insists on trying to build r1708 and this always fails because there's nothing to check out.

I'd like to be able to move Bamboo forward to use at least r1709. How can I do that?

I should have mentioned that I'm using Bamboo 4.2.1.

Atlassian Support already showed me a workaround described in BAM-12119:

  • Make a new Source Repository in the Plan Configuration.
  • Delete the original Source Repository; Bamboo will ask if you want to replace any usage of the original with the new.
  • Build your branch---it should build from HEAD.
