Currently there is not nice and clean solution for that. We used some workarounds but these were unstable and prone to get broken.

We raised a feature request at so please do not forget to vote it and to comment on it, explaining Atlassian how important is to add the minimal level of functionality for working with templates via REST.

Heey, can you tell me some of your workarounds please? I need a solution to create confluence pages from a template. Thank you!

Confluence REST API is in deep development yet. Please see the for the list of possibilities. And as I see from the and - there are no hidden variables that could help with POST query (the only one is the metadata). If you need such kind of REST service - you can write / order your own that will extend needed functionality.

As for the other possibilities - please see for the details

And as I see - there are no specific methods to work with templates.

Hi There,

Any update on this issue. I could not find any rest API documentation related to it.

Any update regarding this feature?

Hi all,

A bit off-top but might be useful for some teams.

We've made a tool that creates documents in Confluence or Google Drive from the Template with specified recurrence and posts links to a Slack channel. Check it out

We use it on daily basis for standups, retrospectives and other recurrent meetings. It really helps us to keep notes and follow regular processes.

Any feedback appreciated.
