What has to be considered when the sever name (URL) of Confluence has to be changed?

We will have to change the server name of our Confluence server instance.

F.e. the old address will be wiki.domain1.com and the new address will be wiki.domain2.com.

The machine (IP address will be the same).

What is the impact?
F.e. change the Server Base URL

What has to be done and considered?

You'll need to change the base url, the proxy settings if you are using one, and all external application links (i.e. anything that tries to reach it).  You may also need to look at https certificates, depending how they've been constructed (if you're using them)

Bear in mind also that anywhere someone has used "wiki.domain1.com" in a link, those links will need to be updated, both in external systems and if people have pasted in links instead of using proper internal referential links inside Confluence (or you could keep running the old domain with redirection set up so that people land in the right place)
