Sending Emails in a Plugin

So here is a tut about sending mail within a plugin.

I followed the instructions, and on the moment of truth. I typed "atlas-run" and pressed enter.

So i´m still waiting for my mails. Of course i set up a mailserver before that.

Somebody has expirience with that tut or with sending mail in generally?

Are you attempting to create a mail readyform or are you attempting to just get mail FROM your instance in regards to updates/creates/etc?

I try to send email within a plugin, when a special method is called it should send a email with custom content.
