Confluence Page not Updating with file edits

I have a confluence page that houses excel and word document files. When I click on the file from the page and it opens in Excel, I make the changes I need to the document, hit save and close out. However, the issue I am having is that the confluence page does not recognize the edits I made to the Excel sheet and will not update it on the confluence site, so I lost all of my work that I have just done. It has not done this before, this is a recent issue. I have tried different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) and the same thing happens. I have also tried with word files and powerpoint files - the same thing happens, confluence does not recognize the edits

I tried to search in the community for something similar and could not find help.
