Change the Database server

Lalit Thakur January 7, 2019

Hi, I have installed confluence on a windows server and when i was installing the application, it asked me to provide the DB details. I have pointed to one of the DB servers and we lost the DB because of some issues.  I would like to point the DB to another server now and make sure confluence is up and running.

Thank you.

Since you installed on Windows the file that has the DB connection is here ...

C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\Confluence\confluence.cfg.xml

The relevant parts that need to be edited are shown in the below screencap.

Hi,

if you lost your current Confluence DB you will have to revert to one of your backups - hopefully you still had the XML backups enabled.
