Details:

Current oncall method needs improvement. As Major Incident Managers, we need more efficiency when it comes down to contact different key resources needed on an investigation bridge.

Our requirements are to have the ability to:

Hit a "Red Button" to reach out, with a simple click, all key stakeholders to join a Teams bridge.

Add people to a bridge without the necessity to leave the ongoing conference call.

Prevent the MIM from calling one resource at a time (i.e.: possibility of selecting the groups we need in a tool and send with a single click the conference call coordinates.

Automate the escalation process (Can the tool trigger a call to a secondary and other higher level if a level doesn’t respond?)

Hello There,
Thanks for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

It seems like your current on-call process could benefit from improved automation and efficiency in communicating with key stakeholders. Opsgenie offers features that might help address these needs:

  1. Multi-Channel Notifications: You can create an incident and send notifications to key stakeholders across multiple channels (SMS, email, phone calls) in one go, which works similarly to your "Red Button" idea. Opsgenie also allows you to set up notification policies for specific stakeholder groups.
  2. Conference Call Bridge: While Opsgenie does not directly manage Microsoft Teams bridges, you can use integrations to notify key people with the conference call information. Integrations with Microsoft Teams and automated workflows could help you send bridge details to all required participants.
  3. Escalation and Automation: Opsgenie has built-in escalation policies that can automatically escalate to secondary and higher-level teams if the initial on-call person doesn't respond within a set time. This is similar to the escalation you're looking for to improve response efficiency during incidents.

If you’re interested in these capabilities, you could further explore the following:

  • Stakeholder Notifications: Configure stakeholders so that they receive all relevant details automatically without requiring manual intervention.
  • Microsoft Teams Integration: Use Opsgenie's integration with Microsoft Teams to notify people directly in the Teams app and possibly automate adding people to the bridge via links.

These features can be configured to help streamline your incident response and minimize the need for manual steps during an emergency.

Best Regards,
Egorr
