Treating a slack channel as a notification recipient

Deleted user August 14, 2020

Hi there

For us it would be really useful to be able to add slack channels as the recipient of notifications in the same way that we can add users. For example, being able to add a slack channel in an escalation policy.

At the moment it appears that you can only add a channel to receive updates to alerts as they happen. This means that it appears you can't, for example, do the following at present:

  • Only alert to a slack channel if the alert hasn't been closed within 2 minutes (de-noising rule)
  • Re-notify to slack channel if the issue hasn't been closed after 60 minutes.

If you could nominate a slack channel(s) as a notification recipient then you could achieve both of the above, but perhaps there is another way of achieving those use cases at present?

Thanks, Duncan

Hi Duncan,

You are correct unfortunately, this indeed currently does not exist,  I have raised a feature request for it.

Our feature requests are implemented by popularity (if other customers are requesting the same or a simular feature the more likely the dev team will add it.)
