Our team is looking to setup a more granular configuration for opsgenie, in order to better route and notify our on call about alerts. We are hoping to add a routing rule which will do the following:
- Match only alerts with a priority of P2
- Only notify on these alerts if it is during business hours
It feels simple to configure this using a routing rule. The question our team has is: What happens to P2 alerts that come in outside of business hours. Ideally these would get queued or batched and resubmitted at the start of the interval window, so that the on-call can begin to triage and review them. As far as we can tell from reviewing the docs and community questions, this is not possible. The only option is to route to "No One". Presumably the alerts are still created and open on the alerts tab, but it would be nice to get the notifications as a reminder.
Is there any way to accomplish this?
@Kyle McChesney you would do this with a Team Notification Policy. The example here would delay notification on all P2 alerts coming in between 5pm and 8am. If the alert self-closed during that time, it would never notify (though it will still show up as a closed alert in your alert list). At 8am, any alerts still open will send notification via your normal alert routing.
