Opsgenie integration not creating alert - Logs show no error

Iqbal Ahmed November 20, 2024

So I have an Opsgenie GCP integration and use it for several of our services, all our services are working except one and we can not figure out why even though the setup is copy pasted from the others.

The debug log shows this:

Screenshot 2024-11-20 at 12.50.00.png

And there are no entries after that and no alert created.

For our other apps, we usually see the 3 above message but also this message confirming the alert creation:

Any help please?

Hi @Iqbal Ahmed ,

This is Shashwat from Opsgenie and here to help! :)

Could you please check under the Debug logs with the exact integration name/id within double-quotes and validate if there were any changes made to the integration around this time when the alert was expected to be created?

Ideally, with these 3 entries, the alert creation entry should also be present, unless the create alert action filter has been updated.

Best,
Shashwat

Ok I have found the issue, I had to assign the team to the list of responders under the services list.

I am not sure how this works? I could not see any special rules, just that the service was owned by another team. How does it determine the service when creating a rule? I did not send any tags and this uses a different integration key compared to the other team.

Hey @Iqbal Ahmed ,

Yes, defining the responders on a service level, will ensure that when an Incident/alert occurs for the service.

The owner team will be notified via the incident and can acknowledge the incident. The other responder teams will get their own separate alerts.

Do you have access to check the other owner team's Incident rules to verify if they have filtered out Incidents with specific filters in place?

May I know your Opsgenie instance URL?

Best,
Shashwat

Sure can you tell me where I can get the instance URL? I'm not sure I understand what that is.
